Yegor Sharangovich signs 2-year contract extension with New Jersey Devils

Yegor Sharangovich, earned a contract with the New Jersey Devils as a restricted free agent June 18, 2021. He scored 30 points (16 goals, 14 assists) in 54 games of his rookie NHL season, ranking third among first-year players in goals and fourth in points and earning a role on the penalty kill and a line with center Jack Hughes and Janne Kuokkanen.
The native of Minsk, Belarus was taken by the Devils in the fifth round (No. 141) of the 2018 NHL Draft. Sharangovich scored 19 goals in two seasons (125 games) for Binghamton of the American Hockey League from 2018-20. He played for Minsk in the Kontinental Hockey League with the 2020-21 NHL season delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, when he worked on his release with assistant coach Mikhail Grabovksi.
Sharangovich scored three points (two goals, one assist) in seven games for Belarus at the 2021 IIHF World Championship. He also played at the tournament in 2017 and 2018.
