VIDEO: Blue Jackets’ John Tortorella Press Conference After Game 5 Loss
It was just seven days ago when the Columbus Blue Jackets and Head Coach John Tortorella were all smiles, after the team had completed its second-straight overtime victory to take a 2-0 series lead against the Washington Capitals in round-one of the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Now, one week later, the Blue Jackets find themselves losers of three straight (two overtime losses) and on the verge of playoff elimination. Columbus suffered a 4-3 overtime loss to Washington on Saturday afternoon to fall behind, 3-2, in the series; and Tortorella wanted no part of his postgame press conference where he would have to address the team’s current state to attending media at Capital One Arena.
Torts, will never disappoint.
Even when Tortorella is short and sweet — the spirited head coach is still entertaining.
Columbus and Washington will face-off for Game 6 at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio on Monday with a 7:30 p.m. (ET) puck drop. The Blue Jackets and Tortorella will look to force a deciding Game 7, which would be played on Wednesday night in Washington.
