USA downs Slovakia, remain undefeated
Denis Godla made 45 saves but the balanced United States attack was too much to handle as the U.S knocked off Slovakia 3-0. Dylan Larkin scored his 3rd of the tournament and Sonny Milano added his 2nd as the U.S wore down a gritty Slovakian squad. John Hayden scored the 3rd American goal as Thatcher Demko recorded 17 saves to go along with the shutout.
After the contest, Red Wings prospect Dylan Larkin said “Hopefully Canada takes care of business [Monday] and it’ll be a good game and a lot on the line for positioning in the next round.”.
The United States next contest is at 4PM ET on New Year’s Eve, when they battle Canada and the winner of the game will claim the pool.
Look for Demko to get the start between the pipes for the American’s and Fucale for the Canadians.
