Top Social Media Posts For December 2019
The expectations are high for a number of NHL teams entering 2020, but Hooked On Hockey Magazine puts that discussion aside for December’s top social media posts from around the hockey community.
Former Junior teammates Brendan Lemieux and MacKenzie Blackwood squared up in friendly fashion at center ice to show their support for the great Dale Hawerchuk.
Being #hockeyfightscancer month in the NHL @MacBlackwood1 I thought we would take the opportunity to thank our former coach Dale Hawerchuk for everything he did to help us live out our NHL dreams. He is in the fight of his life and we ask you to keep him in your prayers pic.twitter.com/TNY3eeSQjo

“Baby” Yoda posts and memes mastered their Jedi-Knight skills to the point where the force led them to NHL teams’ social accounts.

New Jersey Devils defenseman, P.K. Subban, seems to be joying the festive atmosphere the New York City market offers around this time of the year.

Arizona Coyotes forward Phil Kessel returned to the Steel City for the first time after being traded to the desert this past offseason. It’s fair to say Kessel’s return to his former club went over better than his returns to Boston and Toronto.
Phil Kessel "welcome back" video does not disappoint. Kessel with the biggest smile I've ever seen. A "Kessel for President" sign in the crowd. Forever fan favorite. What a moment. -SK

Former NHL All-Star, John Scott, is still making a difference for the hockey community over social media, clearly.
Who's a player from 2000-2010 that kids today don't realize how good they were?

How about this cool throwback photo of the Kariya brothers facing-off for the first time during the NHL careers back in 1999-00.

The NFL’s New Egland Patriots were even jabbed at North of the Border after their filming scandal.

We’re all hoping for the best, Oskar Linblom. Here’s a nice tribute by the Philadelphia Flyers for their teammate.

This fan was clever and tough, to say the least.
There's a little girl in the crowd holding a sign that says "Lemieux, I'll FIGHT YOU for your stick."

How about this goaltender setup? Henrik Lundqvist – takes notes.
Great practice pics of @ErikPortillo20’s @BauerHockey True Design set. The digiprinting technology used by Bauer allows for the creation of both exceptionally sharp and diffuse imagery.

— Anthony Beauvillier (@titobeauvi21) December 26, 2019
He succeeded…
These replies have been my entertainment for the last two days. Thank you all for regaling me with the true tales of this man’s heroism.

NBC Sports has apparently stepped up their social and graphics game for December – the network made HOHM’s list this month on two occasions. Well done!
