St. Louis Blues sign Joakim Lindstrom to one-year contract
The St. Louis Blues are on the move once again, adding new faces to bring on a better season. General Manager Doug Armstrong announce early on Wednesday, May 28th the addition of Joakim Lindstrom. The Blues have signed him to a one-year contract.
The thirty-year old forward has spent the last two seasons playing for Skelleftea AIK in the Swedish Hockey League, in which he had twenty-three goals and forty assists. He also acquired seventy-two penalty minutes in fifty-five games.
Lindstrom has appeared in five NHL seasons, playing for Colorado, Columbus and Phoenix. He picked up thirty-three points and forty-six penalty minutes in just under 100 career games.
The six-foot, forward is a strong player with great passing skills. He plays physical, which is somewhat of a Blues’ M.O. As the Blues look to fill the wholes for the 2014-2015 season, Lindstrom will hopefully play a winning part.
Current Blues players have already taken to Twitter to welcome their new teammate. Alexander Steen tweeted to say “Super excited for the opportunity to play with one of my best friends! Welcome to St. Louis!”
Blues fans are already on your side as well, Lindstrom.
