Slovakia Shoots By Italy In 2014 Ice Hockey World Championship

Slovakia dominated Italy from start to finish earlier today as they picked up their second win of the tournament by a score of 4-1. It was a shooting frenzy throughout as Slovakia out-shot Italy 53-20 through the game.

Marek Daloga, Michel Miklik and Tomas Tatar had a goal and an assist apiece for Slovakia, while Marek Viedensky also scored. Karol Sloboda added a pair of helpers. While Italy’s captain Alexander Egger scored the lone goal for his team.

Italy’s netminder Daniel Bellissimo managed to make 49 saves on the day but unfortunately for his team, 4 did squeak by in the loss. With the win, Slovakia keeps their quarter-final hopes alive for now. The team will need to put in efforts similar to their game against Italy and have some help from other teams to bring themselves back into a playoff spot.

Italy however looks to regroup after suffering a big loss against Canada the day before followed by today’s shooting gallery and utter dominated game by Slovakia.

I grew up playing Ball and Roller Hockey day and night somewhat religiously throughout elementary and middle school. The two don't compare though when I lace up the skates and hit the ice. I live and breathe hockey beyond the perspective of "it's just a game" and I will gladly talk hockey for hours with anyone. Hockey is more than just a lifestyle, it's a culture of passionate people who make memories every time the puck is dropped. Hockey has not only helped me get through some of the hardest times in life but has created some of the best memories to date. Want to talk hockey with me? Shoot me an email: iburdetskiy@hookedonhockey.com and let's talk some hockey!
