What began as a clever idea to not only get the Rangers right winger’s attention, but a young lady’s as well — became more than a reality Monday night at Madison Square Garden, for Vinny.
The dedicated Rangers fan brought an eye-catching sign to the Columbus Blue Jackets – Rangers game, and one that Zucc couldn’t help but acknowledge. As seen in the photo below, Zuccarello signed off on Vinny’s smooth proposal to ask Catherine to the Prom…

Aside from getting the cool sign autographed and receiving Zucc’s game-used stick — the Rangers’ leading goal scorer even left a few words of advice for arguably his new biggest fan.
Did I mention No. 36 for the red, white and blue opened up the scoring for New York during the first period too? It was a night of celebration for the Broadway Blueshirts and the Prom duo, as the Rangers defeated Columbus by a final score of 2-1.
It’s safe to say Zucc was more than just center Derek Brassard’s wing-man on Leap Day 2016.
