Joe Thornton Signs With Panthers
Joe Thornton, 42, has inked a one year deal with the Florida Panthers after one season in Toronto. Thornton posted 5 goals and 15 assists in his one year as a Maple Leaf.

Over his career with Boston, San Jose, and Toronto, Thornton has amassed 425 goals, 1,104 assists, and 1,529 points sitting 14th in all-time NHL points. With just five points he could surpass Paul Coffey and Mark Recchi for 12th all-time.
Panther’s GM Bill Zito released this statement about the signing:
“With more than 1,600 games played in the NHL, Joe will bring a wealth of experience to our locker room and lineup. His drive to succeed is unmistakable and we are thrilled that he chose to sign with our club and that he believes in what we are building here in South Florida.”
