How and Where to Bet on The Six Favorites for the 2024 Stanley Cup
The Las Vegas Golden Knights left little doubt that they were worthy champions of the 2023
Stanley Cup, putting a cap on a compelling NHL season with a 4-1 series victory over the
Florida Panthers. However, while the celebration in Vegas continues, the rest of the NHL is
ready to turn the page and look ahead toward the 2023-24 season. There are already betting
odds available for the 2024 Stanley Cup winners. Fans can place a bet on next year’s cup
winner enjoy the great hockey bonuses and easy deposit and withdrawal options at established
sportsbooks like BetMGM, FanDuel, or DraftKings. All of the above sportsbooks offer great
bonuses such as the $2500 Risk No Sweat First Bet offfered by FanDuel, easy deposit options,
such DraftKings Gift Card offered by DraftKings, and even early cashouts such as the BetMGM
cahsout feature. But, before you place your bets, let’s take a quick look at the leading favorites
to win the 2024 Stanley Cup, the odds for each and where to place your bet.
Colorado Avalanche
The Avalanche appears to be the consensus favorite to win the 2024 Stanley Cup. Colorado put
together an impressive season during the 2022-23 campaign, only to suffer a first-round playoff
exit. Fortunately for the Avs, the core of that team is still in place. However, they won’t have
captain Gabriel Landeskog next year, as knee surgery will keep him. Obviously, that will create
a big hole to fill, although Valeri Nichushkin is expected back for next season after leaving the
team during the playoffs. That should help provide the Avalanche with plenty of optimism
heading into next season. FanDuel, DraftKings, and BetMGM all have Colorado listed with the
shortest odds at +800. These may change as we get closer to the start of the season so making
your wager right now would be a good idea.
Toronto Maple Leafs
The Leafs haven’t won the Stanley Cup since 1967 and had another disappointing finish this
past season. Toronto looked like a contender but was upset by a red-hot Florida team in the
Eastern Conference Semifinals. However, there is hope that new GM Brad Treliving can put
together a championship team. DraftKings gives the Leafs +900 odds to win the cup next year
while BetMGM is at +950 and FanDuel gives Toronto a moneyline of +1100, which is actually
tied for the second-shortest odds.
Edmonton Oilers
Edmonton was among the best teams in the Western Conference this past season. But the
Oilers couldn’t keep up with the Golden Knights in the conference semifinals. It’s clear that
Edmonton needs to make some changes defensively and between the pipes this offseason. But
if that happens, the Oilers will be right there. FanDuel gives them the second-shortest odds to
win the Stanley Cup at +1100, as does BetMGM at +950. At DraftKings, Edmonton’s odds are
+1000, the fourth-shortest.
New Jersey Devils
There isn’t much consensus on the Devils heading into next season, although they finished
strong and have some positive momentum going forward. Oddsmakers have them in the
second tier of Stanley Cup contenders. BetMGM and DraftKings give New Jersey +1200 odds
to win it all next year while FanDuel puts them in a five-way tie for the fourth-shortest odds at
+1300.
Boston Bruins
No team was more disappointed at how the 2023 season ended than the Bruins. Boston was
historically dominant during the regular season, only to suffer a stunning upset in the first round
of the playoffs. They will surely be in the mix next season, but with an aging roster and
uncertainty over whether Patrice Bergeron will retire or not, the Bruins are far from the top
favorite. To be fair, DraftKings has them at +800, which is tied with Colorado for the shortest
odds at that sportsbook. But BetMGM lists Boston as +1000 to win the Cup while FanDuel has
them among the teams at +1300.
Las Vegas Golden Knights
Repeating as the Stanley Cup champs is certainly on the table for the Golden Knights. After all,
they’ve been to the Finals three times in the last six years. But winning back-to-back Stanley
Cups is difficult, and the odds reflect that. DraftKings and BetMGM list Las Vegas at +1200
while FanDuel is giving the Golden Knights +1300 odds to win it all in 2024.
