Former NHL Player Exposes Coach Mike Babcock’s Dark Side: A ‘Bully’ and ‘Scumbag’
In the NHL, Mike Babcock has developed quite a reputation. Some of his players don’t respond well to his antiquated coaching approach.
A former NHL player spoke out about the coach after the most recent speculations about his job in Columbus surfaced.
Mike Comrie was frank on the Clear the Crease Podcast.
“Morning, folks. I was going to leave this alone because frankly, I’m sick and tired of seeing Mike Babcock’s name in all my feeds, but here we are. Mike Babcock, head coach, back in the NHL. Babs the bully gets another chance. Am I disappointed? Yes, I am disappointed. Am I surprised? No, I’m not. His whole retirement thing was a load of horseshit right off the bat.”
“I’m sure he walked into the Columbus office and told the brass whatever they wanted to hear. ‘Oh, I’ve changed,’ blah blah blah, which is another load of horseshit. Babs the bully ain’t changing. Scumbags like that don’t change. With all due respect to my buddies within the Blue Jackets organization, I hope this Babcock experiment is a complete disaster on every single level.”
He wanted the world to know that he doesn’t like the coach, which is obvious.
He’s made a valid point. Can someone really alter that much? In the Blue Jackets’ locker room, his fashion sense won’t be tolerated. Given how John Tortorella’s tenure ended, it appears that the club doesn’t respond well to traditional coaching methods.
Do you believe he would fit in well in Columbus?
