Evander Kane & Zach Bogosian Key Parts of Multi-player Trade
As speculated, the Jets traded Evander Kane, but what came as a surprise is that Zach Bogosian was part of the trade as well. In exchange for Bogosian, Kane and Jason Kasdorf(currently playing hockey at RPI) the Sabres traded Tyler Myers, Drew Stafford, Joel Armia, Brendan Lemieux, and the Sabres 2015 1st round draft pick.
The loss of Bogosian will have more of an impact on the team than the loss of Kane. While neither are having a stellar season, it’s difficult to say who got the better end of this deal.
Kane has 22 points this season, while Bogosian has a mere 13 points. I’m excited to see how the new additions will playout with the current lineups. I have always been a fan of the Byfuglien/Enstrom pairing, but this season has pretty much been Enstrom/Bogosian. I’m curious to see if they will try Myers and Enstrom together.
While playing in Buffalo, Stafford tallied 24 points this season and Myers has 13. They are equally productive as far as points are concerned, but hopefully they will play a part of getting the Jets to the playoffs.
As far as potential call-ups for Armia or Lemieux, they are both having good seasons with their current teams. With the Americans, Armia has 25 points in 33 games. Lemieux, who is playing in the OHL with the Barrie Colts, has 46 points in 50 games.
