goalie Henrik Karlsson has been traded to the Chicago Blackhawks for a seventh round pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
After a poor 2011-2012 season from Karlsson, his job as backup goalie was given competition with young net minder, Leland Irving. Irving was called up for a part of the 2011-2012 season and preformed quite well for the flames. After Irving beat out Karlsson for the backup goalie position during training camp, they did not have much use for him.
I have been an insanely intense fan of the Calgary Flames for as long as I can remember. Hockey is a huge part of my life and always has been. Every morning I wake up and watch one of three television shows. Those three shows consist of "That's Hockey", "Sportscenter" and "Sportsnet Connected." All day I am constantly glued my phone checking twitter updates for any breaking news or reading article after article on various sports apps. I will rarely go a day with out getting my hockey fix. I am not only one of the most passionate and opinionated Calgary Flames fans you will ever meet, but an extremely engaged hockey fan also.
