Breaking News: Robin Lehner to have surgery and Vegas Golden Knights take Marc-André Fleury off the trade market

Marc-André Fleury is now off the trade market.

At least that is the word from Vegas Golden Knight’s GM Kelly McCrimmon who has stated he intends to keep both goaltenders on the roster and that the team will be cap compliment before next season gets underway in game-play.

Of course with the sudden alertness to Robin Lehner’s injury that requires surgery it seems like a no-brainer move aside the fact of how much cap-space the two goaltenders will be taking up and why the team wanted to move Fleury after signing Lehner to a 5 year deal worth a total of $25 million.

Although McCrimmon has also stated Lehner will be ready for the start of camp training it will need to be seen if the true reason Fleury is off the market currently because of his high cap hit and teams unwillingly to take on such a contract.

It’s never a bad thing to have two great starting goaltenders on the roster especially with more teams looking to try splitting time among their goalies in what may be a very schedule heavy season of back-to-back games for the 2020-21 NHL Season.

I grew up playing Ball and Roller Hockey day and night somewhat religiously throughout elementary and middle school. The two don't compare though when I lace up the skates and hit the ice. I live and breathe hockey beyond the perspective of "it's just a game" and I will gladly talk hockey for hours with anyone. Hockey is more than just a lifestyle, it's a culture of passionate people who make memories every time the puck is dropped. Hockey has not only helped me get through some of the hardest times in life but has created some of the best memories to date. Want to talk hockey with me? Shoot me an email: iburdetskiy@hookedonhockey.com and let's talk some hockey!
