ST. LOUIS BLUES TAKE ROBBY FABBRI FOR 21ST OVERALL DRAFT PICK

   Fabbri had scouts and hockey aficionados alike excited about his potential pick.  The nineteen year old Ontario native played for the Guelph Storm Hockey Club and was their first round pick in the 2012 draft.  Robby lead the Storm to the OHL Memorial Cup where they won the championship.  Fabbri was previously the captain of the Mississauga Rebels for 2010-2011 season.

   Robby Fabbri was said to possess “world class passion, speed and skill,” by his for Guelph Storm VP and GM Mike Kelly.  Kelly also compared him to former Storm player and current tampa Bay forward Ryan Callahan.  Fabbri is roughly the same size and stature as Callahan when he was Fabbri’s age.  And both players seem to share similar styles of speedy accuracy.

   Robby Fabbri was also the OHL Player of the Month this past February.  He dressed for 58 regular season games with Guelph Storm Club, ranking second with 87 points (45 goals and 42 assists).  He lead the team on to win the 99 Award as the Ontario Hockey League’s Playoff MVP.

   Despite his smaller frame (5’10 and 165 lbs) Robby Fabbri possess raw talent and high-speed offensive skill.  He thrilled fans in the OHL seasons and inspired teammates.  The St. Louis Blues could use a little inspiration as of late, and this kid might just do the trick.  Opponents may underestimate the young gun because of his size, and the Blues can use that to their advantage, as Fabbri himself already does.
