Torres Suspended
The NHL announced that forward Raffi Torres of the San Jose Sharks was suspended for the rest of the Sharks vs Kings series. Torres received a minor charging penalty during the second period of Game one for a hit on Jarrod Stoll of the Kings. Torres has a name for himself when it comes to suspensions, and was given such a harsh penalty for this minor incident due to being a “repeat offender.”
So far in the playoffs, Torres has played five games for the Sharks, only registering one point and two penalty minutes. That one point was a crucial overtime goal during Game two of the WCQF against the Vancouver Canucks. The Sharks went on to sweep the Canucks.
